Good morning! How did your Death Cab viewing parties last night go? Did you run out of hummus? Did Ralphie get a little [glug glug] with the Tullamore Dew again? Well, in case you were too busy live-tweeting to pay full attention, here’s the new uber-meta Death Cab for Cutie making-of-the-video video, with what strikes me as a very unnecessary countdown at the beginning. And now, for my most shocking reveal of all: I don’t hate this band! I actually think their last record moved them in some very interesting directions. And hey, I don’t hate this song! The video, recorded live last night, is a little bit goofy — but in this age where no one pays attention to anything, I can’t really blame them for pulling some kind of stunt in order to get attention. (Next thing you know, Gibbard will be marrying a celebrity!) The song, though, is kind of sweet and soft, and I like that little looping guitar hook. So! No snark for Cutie! Enjoy the video above.
