Are you psyched for this yet? Because you should be. Admittedly, we’re biased, but young bands making their second record can do one of two things: they can hedge their bets and repeat the same formula, or they can shrug their shoulders, accept the thrown gauntlet and go for it, rising to the challenge by going bigger and bolder and more confident. Well, I’m happy to report, the Pains of Being Pure at Heart have done the latter. Belong, which arrives March 29, is a giant leap forward. Today, they unveil the title track. If Belong is their Siamese Dream, this song is its “Cherub Rock.” Enjoy.

Love it. I just find it ironic that even though PoBPaH worked with the Mellon Collie & the Infinite Sadness team that this album so far is sounding like the albums the Pumpkins did with Butch Vig.
