announcing: new search!

Yesterday we experienced some unfortunate technical difficulties. We’re terribly sorry about that–Tuesday release days are as important to us as they are to you. But with sacrifice comes some rewards. So today, we’re happy to announce our new search interface, which is live on the site right now. New Search, as we’ve been calling it in-house, is a definite upgrade. Among the improvements:

- Most searches are for artists. The Best Match section at the top of the page allows you to quickly view and listen to albums by top artist matches.

- Tracks are now ranked by relevancy and popularity. This helps you find the most popular downloads when there are identical track names by several artists (for example, when searching for blues or jazz standards).

- We’ve also included editorial results. So you can, you know, find our words we slave over.

So, try it out!  You will find things! Promise!
