We’ve already mentioned the incredible benefit album for New Zealand musician Chris Knox, on which which artists including Neutral Milk Hotel‘s Jeff Mangum, Yo La Tengo, the Magnetic Fields‘ Stephin Merritt and many others recorded covers of Knox’s songs, after he suffered a series of debilitating strokes last year. Now Mangum, the Fields’ Claudia Gonson, Yo La Tengo, The Clean‘s Robert Scott and David Kilgour, TV On The Radio‘s Kyp Malone, Sharon Van Etten and others are joining for a show in New York on May 6 to continue raising money for Knox and his family. The tribute, hosted by Wordless Music and WFMU, will take place at Manhattan’s Le Poisson Rouge and it will be partially recorded to air later on WFMU and community radio stations in New Zealand. Tickets are on sale March 30 via Kickstarter.com.
