i don’t think it’s strange at all. Recent releases from James Pants, Baron Zen and Dam Funk all fit in quite well with the stuff off that minimal wave album.

No, I was thinking that was strange too. But looks like this is a partnership between Stones Throw and the Minimal Wave label out of NY. They previously did only vinyl re-issues. http://www.minimal-wave.org/site/index.php

Am I alone in thinking that a coldwave anthology is a very strange project for the Stones Throw label? Cool, but strange.

On the more electronic tip, singles from Bullion, I:Cube, & Ilija Rudman are all worth checking. The Rudman is straight DFA sound, the Cube more sleek but still grooving, and Bullion is excellent post-Dilla hazy boom bap.
