And now. The time is near. And so we face. Your #1 album.
eMusic’s Member Poll concludes today, so pop in and see how many of your favorites made the cut. One thing I learned from this list? I have been seriously underestimating Metric. I have duly downloaded.
I wanted to take a few seconds to get all weepy and thank those of you who drop by here regularly and share comments, feedback, insights and favorite records — I learn about so much great music from all of you, and thank you for your continued support of what we do. On behalf of eMusic’s editorial team, I want to wish you all a happy, safe and healthy holiday — onward and upward in 2010!

I’m almost embarrassed to say I have 16/20 on the list and two of the other four are on my SFL. I’m such a hipster.
I still think Wild Beasts should be getting WAY more love than it is, though.
Craig
hmm, i can’t remember the order i put these in, but my ballot went something like this:
emeralds, what happened
little dragon, machine dreams
black to comm, alphabet 1968
redshape, the dance paradox
dj quik & kurupt, blaqkout
geogria anne muldrow, umsindo
dâm-funk, toeachizown
a sunny day in glasgow, ashes grammar
lindstrøm & prins thomas, ii
wild beasts, two dancers
(suddenly i’m thinking that i voted for black meteoric star in place of lindstrøm & prins thomas. i really should’ve written this down.)
overrated: animal collective
underrated: filastine
^ did i miss these btw? or were these votes used to bump up or take away from the tallies gained from the rest of the ballot?
We’re holding overrated and underrated possibly til early next week. We’ll put them up, though. They didn’t impact the points at all.
got it, thanks. and also, thanks for answer my question in the last thread — i re-read it this morning and realized that it may have come off a little bratty. i didn’t mean for it to come off that way, if it did!
It didnt at all! The point spread was crazy. Lemme put it this way: Animal Collective won by a landslide.
i thought i’d drop my top ten now that it’s all out there.
10 – Iran – Dissolver
9 – St. Vincent – Actor
8 – The Pains of Being Pure At Heart – The Pains of Being Pure At heart
7 – White Rabbits – It’s Frightening
6 – Builders and the Butchers – Salvation is a Deep Dark Well
5 – The Most Serene Republic – and the Ever-Expanding Universe
4 – Julian Casablancas – Phrazes for the Young
3 – Telekineses – Telekinesis! (underrated of the year)
2 – AC Newman – Get Guilty
1 – Sunset Rubdown – Dragonslayer
I think I’ve given away any surprise as to what my overrated of the year was. I’m glad you all ike it so much, especially “Stillness is the Move.” Good for you all.
Heres my top ten, for what its worth
1.Memory tapes-Seek Magic
2.Faunts-Feel love thinking
3JJ #2
4.Phoenix – W.A Phoenix
5The Clientele-Bonfires of the Heath
6. Mew- No More Stories
7Super Furry Animals..Dark Days/Light Years
8Engineers-Three Fact Fader
9Washed out-Life of Leisure
10Burning Hearts-Aboa Sleeping
Merry Christmas!
gah, that should read, “answering my question,” in the above post. also, it must not have been the l&pt record OR black meteoric star i included on my ballot, but filastine’s dirty bomb, a record that i definitely put in my top 5. it was the first great record of 2009 that i heard actually! fans of dj /rupture’s uproot mix will likely recognize “hungry ghosts.”
