As best I understand it — which is pretty limited! — it gets tangled up in weird international rights issues. Like, (and this is just what I *think*), Flying Nun has the Clean in NZ, but Merge has them in US. I think. I may be wrong. I just know that the legality around the Flying Nun stuff is very weird.
