tomorrow: new emusic selects

Tomorrow will bring two new releases from eMusic Selects, our in-house, personally run record label. This month’s artists are Altair Nouveau — sci-fi disco, was on the Selects compilation — and Julianna Barwick — dreamy vocal loops, otherworldly sounds, previous record beloved by everyone. Both releases are EPs (five tracks for Altair, six for Julianna), and both are fantastic. I personally listen to this music constantly, and I’m hoping everyone else will have a similar reaction.
One other thing: both of these records have such incredible album art. Here’s Altair (sliced for the above image) and here’s Barwick. So great.

Juliana Barwick is terrific (I heard her for the first time thru Daytrotter last year), and Altair Nouveau was one of my fave cuts off Selected Collected. Glad I saved some tracks for this month!
Julianna did my favorite version of Reckoner when Radiohead was having that contest… I’m really looking forward to hearing more!
