For those of you out there who are not familiar with the Internet sensation of 2008, Christian the Lion, please take 2 1/2 minutes and watch this YouTube video. You will laugh, you will cry, your faith in beast and man and God will be restored. The story of the two British friends who adopted a lion cub, set him free in the wild, then went to pay him a visit is so touching that a book version of the events just had to follow. And now A Lion Called Christian is an audiobook! The book expands upon the YouTube clip with tons of details about life with a pet lion. Sadly, it does not include a Whitney Houston soundtrack.

The truly softhearted will want to check this longer clip from the movie, including the original narration and soundtrack. The best part — Christian takes the boys home to meet his kids!

I met Christian a few times, and it was slightly disconcerting at the time. Ace and John brought him around for drinks one night while they still all lived in London. an unforgettable memory. Christian used to sit in the window of Ace and John’s shop ‘Sophisticat” along with the restored Georgian chests etc. Both special human beings, and Australians bye the bye. Alexandra.
