It’s something of a daily sport to embarrass Alex round these parts. It’s really easy to do — when you suddenly find yourself in a successful indie band and you are literally the most spotlight-averse person ever, there is a constant fount of material. Its a fun game: come the end of the day, I stand up, ask Alex what he’s doing that night. He’ll usually shrug and mutter something about “photo shoot.” Cue gleeful teasing.

So it would be completely, totally remiss of us to pass up this opportunity. Alex is not here today. Where is Alex, you might ask? Out sick? Jury duty?

No, he’s opening for Deerhunter in a secret show in San Francisco. That Myspace is flying them over to play. You know — THAT old story.

Good luck, Alex. We love ya.

    So much for the secret.

Good work, Alex! Don’t forget us when you’re rich and famous.

Seriously everyone, if you get a chance to see them live…do. They’re friggin’ fantastic.

Too bad they’re not coming to Iowa.

I’m a bit slow on the uptake, but as the first major download since I re-upped in late February, this thing is great.
