selected + collected liner notes
We wanted to make sure this compilation was special, and so we decided to go the extra 100 miles and create a really nice set of liner notes that would make a case for each band, give you a chance to get to know them and also just have a cool memento of this record. What we came up with involved a handful of people working really, really hard on this, and I want to thank profusely eMusic’s own designer Dave Scott, who really ran with these in a way that not even I expected. And thanks also to Jess Larrabee of She Keeps Bees, who made the beautiful — and I mean beautiful — album art. And if everyone checks the back cover in the liner notes, you’ll see some more deserving thank you’s as well.
Anyway, to download the liner notes, simply click this link (the file is a PDF, and is only 6MB):

And just as a reminder, the album itself is available right here.
Finally, here’s a liner notes preview:

Holy cow…! These liner notes are amazing!
You guys are incredible, really. Great work.
Round of applause
and another one for the compy itself
Good good stuff, guys!
These liner notes are spectacular. They remind me of that 1987 4AD compilation “Lonely is an Eyesore,” except… they’re better.
You guys should be very proud of this compilation. I’m not sure what it is, but this feels like a game-changer. Things won’t be the same after this, somehow.
I’d have paid 16 downloads for the notes. Killah. In fact that’s what you should say: pay 16 downloads for these killah notes, and get the music free. Except that the music is killah too.
this is great. 17dots keeps amazing me. thanks! i like the clean site, focus on just music for music.
