Some of these bands you know, some maybe you don’t. I’m going to run through them really fast:
Girls: Spiritualized sing-alongs that will change your life. From SF.
Obits: Ladies and gentleman, may I introduce the first Sub Pop song on eMusic! This was a real coup for the comp, and I’m incredibly proud that this incredible song made it on.
Glasser: From LA, very Bjork. Has even better songs than the one here. Indie stardom awaits her.
My Teenage Stride: Our love for this band knows no borders.
Eagle Boston: Awesome druggy disco from Berlin. A personal fave.
Salem: Crunky! The bass is purposely distorted, btw.
Homeboy Sandman: Amazing NYC rapper. One of my favorite people on this comp. Just a great dude.
Altair Nouveau: Will soon have a single coming out through DFA! Love this man.
Rademacher: Suggested by Capt Whiffle, and man what a great call. Tons of potential here. (Weird fact: the singer and I were roommates about seven years ago and had no idea when we first discussed doing the comp together. Odd!)
She Keeps Bees: Not only did they contribute this killer track, but the cover art, too!
Bow Ribbons: The first Selects band suggested by another Selects band! Mary from High Places sent this one my way, and it’s so great.
Victoire: Philip Glass collaborators kill it with this piece, as well as a handful of others. You might hear more of them from us.
Man/Miracle: No one can argue with rousing indie like this.
Deastro: The only previous Selects artist on here. Our lil Randy.
Pains of Being Pure at Heart: Meet the new superstars of indie pop.
Jumbling Towers: Longtime 17 Dots favorites.
Please download it and give it a spin!

This looks fantastic. Great work! Can’t wait to listen…
Obits play Atlanta on March 17 (St. Paddy’s Day!)
This looks great! I’m happy to see that Rademacher made the cut. That *is* odd that you and Sosa were roommates once. I’m eager to explore the rest of the comp.
I made my own colour print of the liner notes.
It can be felt how much this moment is important for you out there.
For me it’s the israeli holiday election day of today present.
A great thank you:)
TROY
Did I read this right? “the singer and I were roommates about seven years ago and had no idea…”
You had no idea that you used to be roommates? NEITHER of you had any idea that you were roommates? Was one of you hiding under a pile of blankets? Were you both high? (Scratch that.) Were you both actually living with love monkeys and keeping this apartment as a dodge for your parents? Was one or both of you formerly a woman? Is one or both of you one now?
Maybe there’s some innocent explanation, but for now, I’m flipping up my collar and looking both ways — TWICE — before stepping off into traffic. Scary.
Obits!! Yes! And Sub Pop too, nicely done, Yancey and eMu.
Jumbling Towers are my favorite band. Glad to see them on here.
you guys made one kickass mixtape – I’m loving everything on here! BUT – and this is important – I must have more Man/Miracle!!! Only one other song here on eMusic to download. More more more please!!!
I second the request for more Man/Miracle! I’ve had them on my radar since they were on the podcast a month or two back. According to their Myspace, “we have a new ep in the works, we’re recording it at new & improved studios in oakland w/eli crews producing. it’ll be five or six brand new songs that we’ve been playing live. should be out around february or march!”
More Man/Miracle is on the way, for sure! Their EP will be out on Gold Robot sometime in the next month, I believe. And it’ll be on eMusic.
Sweet!
damn alex – super sweet! Okay, let’s try this again – and this is also really important – I must have more Bow Ribbons!!! There isn’t anything else here on eMusic for them. More more more please!!!
Bow Ribbons have an EP, but it only has four songs on it! They are all great, though.
@ yancey: prove it! or are you talking a non-eMu EP?
Great job on this. I wasn’t sure if the album-only offer would bother me, but I don’t think there’s a track I would have skipped anyway.
I need to listen to it more, but so far the Homeboy Sandman and Altair Nouveau tracks stand out the most.
non-emu ep. just something hand-drawn. i’ll talk to them about getting it up. they are the best people. THE BEST.
Awesome job, Your totally in sync with your inner Emu EP.(SYKE) Call me at 1800-get-a-life, cause all y’ll need one especially Yancy and Flamgirlant. What is this stuff to me your a bunch of loosers, and dont reply because im never getting on a dumb webbie like this, i dont even know how i got here so i dont care what yall have to say about me cause im getting on with my life
