From the (constantly amazing) Flickr of superbomba

This is my second stab at an EVR show and — oops! — it’s kind of a downer again. I wanted this one to skew a bit more “cold yet pretty,” so some clean electronic music, stark folk stuff… along those lines. I also would never normally include two songs from one artist, but I’ve been listening to Alexis Taylor (of Hot Chip)’s solo album a lot. It’s called Rubbed Out and it’s a true bummer we don’t have it on eMusic. Then again, it was meant to be super limited and is already sold out (out of print, maybe?). What’cha gonna do.

Ok! On with the show! Download it from our DIY archives here. Apologies for some pops n’ cracks (and low volume!) on the talking bits. Here’s what I played:

Vincent Gallo, “I Wrote This Song for the Girl Paris Hilton”
Alexis Taylor, “I’m Not a Robber”
Clinic, “Distortions”
Girls, “Lauren Marie”
Real Estate, “Black Lake”
Hauschka, “Wonder”
Nite Jewel, “What Did He Say”
Enzo Ponzio, “Italian Boy”
Junior Boys, “No Kinda Man”
Suicide, “Dream Baby Dream (Single Edit)”
Fever Ray, “Dry and Dusty”
White Williams, “Danger”
Alexis Taylor, “I Thought This Was Ours”
Zaza, “With You”
Colder, “Confusion”
Zeigeist, “The Lake”
Lykke Li, “Little Bit (Loving Hand Remix)”
Sune Rose Wagner, “Samme Vej”
Banjo or Freakout, “Someone Great”
School of Seven Bells, “Half Asleep”
Ekkehard Ehlers, “Plays Cornelius Cardrew 1″
Eluvium, “Everything To Come”
Flying Lotus, “Interference”
Madlib, “Floating Soul (Peace)”
Lukid, “Veto”
Hudson Mohawke, “Root Hands”
J Dilla, “Geek Down”

I wish Alexis Taylor’s album had been easier to purchase. It was not made available on any download service. It’s a shame because I would have snapped that up ASAP. :(
