There’s a lot going on at eMusic these days: a great new artists comp on the way, our friends Rural Alberta Advantage hitting New York City, a chance to talk to A.C. Newman. To that list we add one more exciting development: our friends (and the unofficial eMusic house band) My Teenage Stride will be giving us a brand new single every month for the whole of 2009. That’s 12 brand-new My Teenage Stride songs in all, not including their contribution to Selected + Collected. January’s jam is up now, a rollicking number called “Cast Your Own Shadow,” which Jed playfully describes as a sonic homage to The Pains of Being Pure At Heart. If only we knew someone in that band, we could pass the word along…
I’ll look forward to this, but it can’t top Bishop Allen’s brand new EP every month back in 2007.
Brilliant! Reminds me of the Wedding Present doing the same thing many years ago. Ahhh… how I remember 7″ vinyl.
Speaking of Bishop Allen, their new one “Grrr…” is being released on 3/10.
