evr show #14 playlist
I took a quick break from counting down the best albums of 2008 by putting together a holiday-themed mix this week. The show starts off with a handful of recent favorites — great tracks I have stumbled across — and then moves into an 80-minute DJ mix of pop songs and holiday songs and some past East Village Radio favorites, too. I actually made this specifically for eMusic’s holiday party last night, and by request I’ll be making just that part available. Finally, to subscribe to our East Village Radio show, just add this link to your iTunes podcasts:

I’m totally digging Jumbling Towers–great find! They’ve got a free EP available on their website, but I’ll probably grab the one on Emu later today when my refresh hits.
Definitely get the EP. I think I like the album better, though. Such a weird band!
GRRRRRR EVR pulled all of it’s Podcasts off the site So I’ll have to manually pull the show
I don’t use iTunes
If I download the Show, I don’t need to download the Holiday mix by itself? Yes No?
I have to listen to Guns of Brixton again; I never thought of it as a Christmas song before….
Looking forward to checking out the mix.
if we can come up with somewhere to host it, i’d be happy put all the evr shows up so folks could grab them.
I WANT WANT WANT that Herb Albert Christmas record but is not available in my country. ;-( AND it’s not even on iTunes. Bah humbug.
I did a Christmas mix, which except for two tracks is all from eMusic.

the podcast link didn’t work in itunes. are there any changes. regards. s.
Yancey, if you think Jumble Towers is a weird band, you gotta check out Condor Moments. They’re much, much weirder and cool as hell. They’re on What Delicate Recordings, which has a couple albums on Emu. I’ve been holding out on getting the whole CM album “..and though we’re told we’ve got it all, that all we’ve got is freezing cold” in hopes that it would show up on Emu, but no such luck yet so I actually bought the physical cd (a huge rarity for me!).
@Yancey, if you need somewhere to host the radio shows perhaps email me and we can discuss it. I should have enough space (maybe the bandwidth?) at the moment to accommodate.
I finally listened to this show today (how strange it is listening to xmas tunes in Feb!) and I loved the Obits and Pete and The Pirate tracks. Obits are new too me so cheers for the tip. Or should I be thanking your girlfriend? She seems to be the musical genius behind you Yancey… “Music is my girlfriend” indeed
