new math rock!

Q: Who likes math-rock? A: Me! And apparently normal folks now, too, judging by Battles’ sudden comparative fame that makes them the biggest math band ever. But the point is not Battles or normal folks, the point is two albums: French Miami, who we love, and Three Trapped Tigers, who we newly love. Of the two, Three Trapped Tigers, who are from the UK, are the more Battles-like — mostly instrumental and they love them some Don Cab — and their self-titled EP has been slaying me all day (first time I’ve ever heard it).
Now for anyone who listens to our EVR shows, French Miami should be a familiar name to you. I played their “Science Fiction” track — which is awesome — on our second-ever show, and this Friday’s show will feature another cut, “Multi Caliber Rifles,” that I maybe love even more. And yeah, as Joe mentioned yesterday we were seriously eyeing them for eMusic Selects, but then they got signed and that’s awesome for them because they deserve it! So yeah, for the other two of you who like this kinda stuff, two brand new records in the genre that are rad. Which never ever happens, so get yr hands up!

Yawn. Did you really use the word “rad”?
Josh, don’t be a goon, there’s no need.
I never got into a lot of math-y stuff (Don Cab and Battles included). Maybe my teenage years were too delicate for the full throttle of polyrhythms?
These French guys seems to do great for me!
thanks
went for Three Trapped Tigers
thanks yancey
T3 (see what I did there? Math-y!) sounds pretty sweet and definitely up my alley. Now that I’m out of CC download credits, though, I don’t know what to do with myself between refresh dates.
what’s about the playlist for the latest evr show by 17dots?
I’m gonna get that up tomorrow. Maybe tonight. Thanks for reminding me!
French Miami is not signed. Just to let you know.
