I too have taken some time to listen to this show and glad I did! Sterling effort Joe, loved the Pastels (now in my collection) and the Top Choice Clique tracks interview were excellent. It was a nice balance between tracks and interview. Bravo.

I must concur with SaraDevil that the opening salvo was very similiar and even through it pushes my buttons muscially I had to do some checking on who was what. Hardly a gripe though

Now I’ve got a new Scratch Perry album, Promise Ring and TCC albums that I am so close to downloading if it weren’t for the fact that they will blow out my allocation for this month… decisions, decisions.

I’m a little behind on my 17 dots listening, but your show was great. Nice variety of sounds, and the interview with Top Choice Clique (and the songs you selected by them) was excellent. I downloaded both discs, and am looking forward to exploring more of them.

Okay, El Perro Del Mar is new and I just downloaded it, very happy with it.

I still have the same criticism about the show that I mentioned after the first show. There just seems to be an awful lot of bunching together of similar tracks with similar rhythms and similar vocal styling. To the point where I could not tell I was listening to three different bands until I check the playlist (particularly egregious in the opening five songs). This is not horrible, the bands that are loaded in the set are all good, but it gets repetitive to the point of headache inducing and I keep thinking in my head “Change to a new track” even though the track has changed several times.

The show is still worth the listen for the one or two artist I get introduced to, so I’ll keep coming back.

Speaking of the Free Tracks, I’m totally freaking out over yesterday’s band Little Teeth. Definitely not for everyone, but I’m madly in love with that album! I’ve already recruited one co-worker to go with me to see them here in DC on 10/30.

Joe, you definitly changed my mind on Top Choice Clique; I had them on my list dropped them then, after this show, re-added them. The interview (while not as good as Nar’s interview with N.E.R.D.) was very good and informative (esp after my stint as a Rap porducer/engineer); I love the story about the High-Hat becasue it is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO true.
