You hinted at it, but it seems to be true that he has really great conversations with those in hip hop, but not those in rock bands. No one ever knows quite what to make of him, but he wows rappers with his record collection and knowledge and they take him seriously. Rock musicians tend to patronize him, which always bugs me.
