Shocking, I know. See a somewhat cringeworthy Borders shopping session with Schwartzman and Wes Anderson and you’ll get gems like (I’m paraphrasing): “The Beach Boys are great,” “Abba, one of the best bands ever,” and “This is my new band Coconut Records. Google me.” Okay, that last one was a direct quote.
You think Schwartzman was trying to bait his buddy with that Shyamalan nod? I mean, have you seen Lady in the Water?!

Sheesh, you’re being kind by saying that it’s “somewhat cringeworthy” – this was painful to watch. It’s hard to believe that they were serious. The movies were just as cringeworthy as the music.
That was hilarious. They were not serious. It’s the same sense of humor you see in Anderson’s movies. There were actually a few good recommendations in there, but that was a joke, people.
Come on people, that was a joke. It’s the same sense of humor you see in Anderson’s movies. You may not find it funny, but I did. They were not serious.
okay… so, two movie stars made a really long commercial for borders. what gets me though is what a bad commercial it is. imagine watching two guys who AREN’T celebrities telling you to buy beach boys records at a corporate chain store. it would be intolerable. there is no limit to what we will watch people do if they are famous. ‘how green is my valley. a classic film.’ yeah, unlike your last movie. shut up the both of you.
This was an awful lot like walking through four different chapters about music in American Psycho. I’m not sure if that is disturbed or just creepy.
