A while back, an intrepid amateur film editor synced up Arcade Fire’s “My Body is a Cage” with scenes from Once Upon a Time in the West to breathtaking results. This mock-up video for Black Mountain’s magnificent “Angels” is of a similar spirit, matching the Canadian psych ensemble’s hazy masterpiece to college fave Wim Wenders’ Wings of Desire. It’s not quite as transfixing as its predecessor, but there’s still something mysterious and riveting about it. Fair warning: there’s a shot from about :47 – 1:00 in that could be considered NSFW, so use your discretion.
Haha… i like how there’s Nick Cave singing for the credits (he appears in the film). Not as enchanting as I was hoping Joe but good. Wings of Desire is one of my favourite films (top 5) and Angels is my favourite song from In The Future.
Yeah, it’s totally “decent,” but not quite transcendent. The fact that I love this song so much is what put it over for me.
