Towards the end of November our friends in New York held a little shindig where 17 Dots posters met 17 Dots commentators. So now I’m proposing we do the same over here. I can’t promise you James May or Oz Clarke (sorry, I just wanted to put some really English celebrities in the picture i.e. a bit scruffy and holding booze) but I can promise some free drinks, good conversation and all the gossip on what the American editors are really like. We could even try to get Amishi on a web cam!

So, the venue will be a pub in central London and the time will be the last week of August (unless no one can make it.)

Let me know what you think.

Damn… I’ll be in London for the Frightfest horror festival, but that’s the weekend before! Oh well, maybe next time…

We can change it Aphex - it was only a loose plan because I had to say a kind of time - the more the merrier and it would be good to meet you.

It’s still early days after all - all times and dates are still to play for.

If it can change then can you move it to Stockholm please as I live there now ;)

Paris is a nice place to meet too :)

    How about South Australia!? :)

  9. 9 Mr B

    @PocketMumble – I’m an ex-Adelaide person… has it rained yet?

Hey, Anna, that’s OK I might be busy catching up with movies anyway… There’s a movie playing called Tokyo Gore Police and for some reason that appeals to me more than music
    :)
Seriously though, a London meetup would be fine for some, hopefully there’s enough people in the area who can make it and have a good time… I’d be happy to attend but there’s no need to change it for little old me - that’s a bank holiday anyway so maybe there won’t be so many people around… Then again, if I still lived in my old place in Derby, I’d find it as hard (and maybe as expensive) as I would to attend as I do now, living in Spain!

Good luck with whatever happens anyway!

@MrB, yup, it’s been raining on and off over the last few weeks. Usually when I’m on my way to work on the motorbike! :) I haven’t paid any attention to averages, but I don’t think there’s been enough rain to make up for the drought though….

Okay - so how about Thursday August 21st?

  13. 13 Mr B

Bugger… forgot to say Thursdays no good for me (unless I can arrange for a babysitter) and the 28th I’m off Congos. Let me see what I can sort failing we choose another evening.

In theory, I’ll be up for a beer on a Thursday or any other day.
Realistically though, I only go to London when I can make a day of it, not just for an evening out.
Might be able to swing a day off on the 21st, but the days immediately before and after a bank holiday are usually busy at work, so I’ll join the vote for a different date.

I have a feeling this could take some time to sort out :-)

  15. 15 anna

Okay - why don’t you guys suggest some dates that would be good for you?

  16. 16 Mr B

So how many of us are interested in hooking up? Perhaps we should just organise via email. Most evenings are good for me barring Thursdays. 20, 22, 26, 27 perhaps?

hey - i owe xtrev a mixtape…and i’m coming to ny sitty. in a couple days. hey yancey - can you take my “southern boys with nuthin’ to say” mix with you to deliver to xtrev? that’d save me from having to sleep in the alley the last nite in ny sitty.

    thx
