four for the road

Tomorrow is my last day at eMusic. And Yancey and Joe have told me that writing a post announcing my departure would be a good thing to do. Unfortunately, I’m not one for goodbyes. And I’m not a man of many words, so here are a couple of songs that I’d like to recommend you check out as you mourn the huge gaping techno hole that 17 Dots will have to undergo until I come crawling back…
tobias. – “I Can’t Fight the Feeling” (He’s too old to become the NEXT Villalobos. But he sounds a bit like it nonetheless. Mesmerizing.)
Bark Psychosis – “Miss Abuse” (Not exactly electronic music, but it DOES feature the best use of the acid 303 in post-rock, like, ever.)
Ane Brun – “Headphone Silence (Henrik Schwarz Remix / DF Noizy Edit)” (Summer house anthem that should grab the indie kids (Brun) and the house heads (Ferrer) alike.)
Peter Micioni – “Let’s Disco Dance” (Justin Timberlake would do well to cover this.)

I’ll still be here making the occasion electronic post. Someone’s gotta keep up the good fight!
Todd, I shall always be grateful for all of your recommendations that got me chair dancing. Sob.
I’m really sorry to read this. I’ll miss reading your posts, and your perspective. Best wishes, and good luck.
Best of luck. And at first glance, I thought your first song was an REO Speedwagon song.
My electronic collection grew because of your recommendations here. I can’t say I had one prior to 17dots. Thank you.
Awwww… I’m sorry to hear tomorrow is your last day. I hope your next gig goes well. I guess yancey will have to do more posts about electronic. ;o)
Todd, thank you so much for your guidance on the electronic offerings of emusic. My collection grew because of and benefitted from your recommendations. Best of luck to you.
Good luck with everything. The electronic (and Lightning Bolt) posts will be missed.
Um.
No “I Love My Planet”?

Are you kidding me?
DAng! All the best and thanks for all the tips.
Can someone please explain the t-shirt? I’m an idiot and I’m not getting it.
hahaha. so joe and i have this thing of doing awful puns ALL THE TIME, and todd absolutely hates it. so for a going away present, joe got that shirt made at neighborhoodies. todd’s last name is burns. as a compliment, i got todd a hoodie that said WHAT BURNS NEVER RETURNS on it, with a gold turntable embroidered into the side of the hood. todd will be very very very very missed, but he got a sweet new gig (not sure why he didn’t mention that) and he has always been too good for us anyway.
so what’s his sweet new gig then?
not to be cold but can i have your job?
Good luck with the new job and thanks for all the great stuff at eMu Todd.
Are you still going to be contributing to RA?
I will always cherish the memory of the Pillowfight interview. Especially since (thanks to someone) that’s all I have left of it.
Keep making great music!
