Day three of the Best Albums Ever countdown, and a lot of great albums added to the US list. Also quite a few that I have never heard (Drive-By Truckers, Sun Kil Moon, Black Keys, etc). In Canada we get some Animal Collective, Patrick Watson and Pavement, who placed way way way too low. In the UK and Europe — which have accidentally jumped ahead to almost the top 20 — there are a number of great picks as well. Keep the chatter going!

Why is “This Nation’s Saving Grace” by The Fall displayed at the top of this list?

Yancey, you’ve got to hear the Sun Kil Moon disc. Try “Carry Me Ohio.” Trust me.

Personally I prefer Red House Painters, Mark Kozelek of Sun Kil Moon’s first band, but maybe I was just more impressionable when I first heard that.

The link for the US list isn’t working for me (in Canada) unless use a browser with no emusic cookie.

I say UK wins today just for having a diverse list, although it doesn’t include any of my personal favorites. The US list is certainly indie-tastic today.

The first of my predictions appeared (too low, IMHO) at No. 38 today (Burial’s Untrue). I was very pleasantly surprised to see Darker Than Blue, the Blood & Fire compilation, at No. 34. What an inspired choice.

And UK wins today just for having Ethiopiques Vol. 4 at #21 (while none of the Ethiopiques series make the US list at all).

Hmmm, judging from the lists, maybe I should move to Canada. Although I guess I should wait till the top 10 come out; and then decide which country to move to. ;-)
