Dudes like romance novels. That’s what an audiobook publisher told me recently. Apparently, men make up a vast percentage of the audiobook download market, but sales of downloadable romance novels are flourishing. One theory: it’s way easier to enjoy a guilty pleasure when nobody can see what it is you’re reading. Men (and women, too!), you are finally free to get your fix of bodice rippers from the safety of your own iPod. No torrid book covers for judgmental eyes to fall upon.

Can you think of any books that you’d be more likely to read (and luv) if nobody could see just what it was you were reading? I tend to embrace and own my guilty pleasures (hey there, Gossip Girl and Rock of Love), but I have to say that The Other Boleyn Girl is not one that I would necessarily go flaunting on the subway. But it’s soooo good. So. Good.

Just then a subtle breeze entered the nearby window, gently ruffling Patrick’s purposefully messy hair…”Wait” he thought, “Why are we arguing semantics? The important part is we are both encyclopedias…”

I stumbled upon TOBG movie on my flight home from London and as much as I wanted to hate it, it left me wanting to read it, read more about Henry VIII and see Elizabeth again!
