eMusic Selects is back! We know you were waiting with bated breath to see what we’d come up with in March and we’re proud to present both Susu and Hands on Heads for your perusal. Today, I’d like to write a bit about Susu, the math-y Brooklyn juggernaut that Joe recently interviewed for the site. I don’t normally go in for their brand of tunage, but as I’ve listened to Win over the past few weeks, I’ve been won over by their lyrical use of Mark E. Smith’s favorite three words: repetition, repetition, repetition. (Thanks, Joe.) The group has an urgency to these songs that fits nicely with the lyrics, as though they’re propelling you as quickly as possible to the end. I’d recommend just putting some of these songs on repeat, though, so that you don’t ever have to worry about that. Especially “Hands Up (The Race).”

Read Joe’s interview with them here.
