But with moderately small indie labels they are too small to carry an artist in other countries especially when there's hype surrounding this artist. In the case of Lykke Li, she's distributed by Moshi Moshi in UK, but it looks like she's marketed and distributed by [url=http://www.discogs.com/release/1224062]EMI[/url] in other countries. I can see why bigger labels/artists want to split distribution deals (One Little Indian and Bjork spring to mind) but they can't be selling more than a few hundred records in the USA - seems like emusic is an ideal way to get global distribution and sell some records outside of emusic? btw, the Annie album (sadly departed from emusic) is worth buying on CD - several times.
