Electric Turn To Me

Electric Turn To Me are not a band for everyday listening. They are difficult and inclined to witchy hysteria and fracture the spectrum into 356 shades of black and grey. Pitchfork hate them. I’m happy, if happy is the correct word, to have found them.
ETTM are listed as psychedelic rock, this isn’t strictly accurate. They have more of a 60s-meets-80s vibe, psychedelic goth if you will. Singer Silke sounds jaded and faintly bonkers like Siouxie Sioux attempting the part of Sally Bowles, or showgirl Sally taking on one of Macbeth’s three witches.
They formed in around 2002, from the ashes of post-rock noisers Laddio Bolocko and are currently signed to No Quarter Records, home of Earth, Circle, and Coptic Light, mentioned by Yancey below. However, they’re a different proposition – uncomfortable, yet somehow just what is needed when the day is grey and your thoughts buzz like flies.

I do find this interesting but I’m not sure if I want to own it….
I can see why you’d say that Sara - my recommendation, if you just want to download one song as an experiment, would be ‘Watch Out For The Witch’ on the ‘Electric Turn To Me’ EP.
