A list of people that seem like they'd have interesting takes on songs:

Spencer Krug
Tom Waits
Stars of the Lid
Max Richter
Kevin Drew
Billy Childish
MF DOOM

These are all terrific suggestions! Getting Tinariwen would be amazing. Nanker - glad you liked the Bob Neuwirth piece -- he made some great picks.

Contemporary artists I'd like to see analyze songs on this new feature (n.1):

•	Cat Power
•	Carl Newman and/or Neko Case of The New Pornographers
•	Alasdair MacLean of The Clientele
•	The guys in Studio
•	M.I.A.
•	Tinariwen (a longshot, I know, but your clip said they listen to American rock)
•	Thurston Moore
•	Mathew Jonson of Cobblestone Jazz
•	Burial (ha ha)

Just a few thoughts off the top of my head. Anyway, interesting new feature.

I was also pleased to see the Bobby Neuwirth Dozen in the Magazine today. I only really knew him as someone who hung around Dylan in the 70s but I discovered his albums on eMu last year and they are really good country-folk in the Guy Clark sort of vein.

That was fun to read. As far as suggestions for future participants, maybe you could get Gruff Rhys?
