Just wanted to quickly point out a new — and soon-to-be-recurring — feature on eMusic: the Jukebox Jury. This month, eMusic contributor Douglas Wolk sat down with Glass Candy, played them a few songs he thought they might like, and recorded their comments. I always enjoy seeing (or reading) different peoples’ reactions to songs, and Glass Candy’s takes on everyone from Nina Simone to Suicide reveal not only how they hear music, but also how they process and refract those influences. We’re absolutely open to suggestions for future Jukebox Juries, so feel free to fire away. We like to think of it as Ask Amishi with people who are slightly less famous.

That was fun to read. As far as suggestions for future participants, maybe you could get Gruff Rhys?
I was also pleased to see the Bobby Neuwirth Dozen in the Magazine today. I only really knew him as someone who hung around Dylan in the 70s but I discovered his albums on eMu last year and they are really good country-folk in the Guy Clark sort of vein.
Contemporary artists I’d like to see analyze songs on this new feature (n.1):
• Cat Power
• Carl Newman and/or Neko Case of The New Pornographers
• Alasdair MacLean of The Clientele
• The guys in Studio
• M.I.A.
• Tinariwen (a longshot, I know, but your clip said they listen to American rock)
• Thurston Moore
• Mathew Jonson of Cobblestone Jazz
• Burial (ha ha)
Just a few thoughts off the top of my head. Anyway, interesting new feature.

These are all terrific suggestions! Getting Tinariwen would be amazing. Nanker - glad you liked the Bob Neuwirth piece — he made some great picks.
Cool article / idea
