@anna - yeah, I missed Altern8 before I read the article. I'm always surprised that so many people remember them, yet I've never met anyone else who bought their album "Full On Mask Hysteria"! And yeah, you could make a great compilation just on the childrens' TV remixes that were out - Sesame's Treet was a great one and what about Roobard & Custard? The Banana Splits? There was even a remix of the Black Beauty theme, ffs!

@Tim: As great as Born Slippy was, it didn't come out till '95 and I'd say the era being referred to is more like 1989 - 1993. Still, it's a lways a great recommendation at any time :)

Also - I think it really needs The Smart E's 'Sesame's Treet' to be fully complete.

Ah! Yes, we were actually playing 'Sweet Harmony'! I knew I'd missed one out when I was making the list.

Aphexbr - Altern8 are up there.

skerzo - Good call on the Underworld too.

Maybe cos I was abit of a wannabe new ager too but on a personal nostalgia trip, I'd add 'Heliopolis' from this:
http://www.emusic.com/album/Banco-De-Gaia-Maya-MP3-Download/10656034.html

And the classic 'Rez' from here:

Oh, forget to mention: The Shamen's Ebeneezer Goode (along with most of their singles) didn't appear in the original version on the Boss Drum album you linked to. The #1 UK single version can be found on this best-of compilation: http://www.emusic.com/album/The-Shamen-Collection-MP3-Download/10992933.html

Nice list... if only Urban Hype's Trip To Trumpton, Sonz Of A Loop Da Loop Era's Far out and Altern-8 were on eMu, you'd have a full set.

You did miss one classic though - Liquid's Sweet Harmony: http://www.emusic.com/album/Liquid-Culture-MP3-Download/10775697.html

Ha! Great playlist! The only thing missing from these songs here is the tape hiss and strange distortion that came from playing them on tape too many times... I can almost taste that bitter white powder on my teeth again...
