I’m a late convert to British Sea Power, but a happy one. Especially happy today as their latest album ‘Do You Like Rock Music?’ arrives on eMusic today. They’ve allowed themselves to fly towards their epic side here, without loosing any of their sharp thought or eccentricity. Importantly for me, both the band and the album are grounded in a Britain I recognise, the one I’m walking about in right now – in summing up this moment in time, they’ve made it their own. Right now I love this and I hope you do too.

In the meantime, check out Krankenhaus, the EP that precedes this. I’d had no use for them at all before this, and I like it enough to have put on my best of 2007 list.
Metacritic says the U.S. release date is 2-12-08. Hopefully eMusic will have it then. I’ve sampled some of the album and it sounds excellent.
