I think this has been a great year for new music. I've read others who disagree, mostly because, in their view, 2007 lacked some revolutionary, paradigm-shifting trend (e.g., there was no "Smells Like Teen Spirit" breaking into the mainstream and inspiring the grunge movement). Anyway, for that reason, I'm curious to read about where you think contemporary music (of all genres) is headed, and what we might expect in 2008.
