So it’s been nine months since we conceived this blog of ours, and we’ve spent a lot of that time getting to know you, our readers, and you getting to know us. And we figure what better way to commemorate that nine month point than with a baby shower of sorts, held in a bar (as they always are, right?) here in NYC. The whole 17 Dots crew will be in attendance including — yes, that’s right — the mysterious and curious Todd, our favorite Buckeye, as well as Smiling Joe Keyes, the original Riot Grrrl Molly Neuman, myself and many others. Drinks, naturally, will be on us. We still need to set a location, but we’d like to start with a headcount first: who all is here in NYC, and who has that date free? Let’s make this happen!
PS: No gifts, please, except for home-knitted clothes of a neutral color (we don’t know if we’re a boy or a girl yet).

Ahem. ‘Whole crew?’ Man, just because I’m 3000 miles away…
Sorry I can’t be there (I live in Coral Gables, Florida).
But I’m writing, in passing, to say that I look forward to 17 Dot posts, I very much appreciate your genuine and candid comments on new releases, and I’ve grown to trust your recommendations on discs. You’ve helped enhance the eMusic experience for me, and I appreciate it. Happy birthday.
Yes Anna, I owe you quite the apology. We’ll try to do something “British,” though in your honoUr.
And Daniel, oh no! I had thought you were in NYC! While discussing this, Joe and I were like, “maybe we’ll meet Daniel!” So sad.
I need to represent for the book geeks!
Yancey, you and Joe are kind. I used to work for an old-world NYC-based law firm (in their South Florida office), but it’s been a few years since I’ve been to the city.
I am sorry I won’t be able to meet all of you. But rest assured, you’ll draw a crowd far more interesting than me.
@Anna, I live in London, we can always meet up and drink proper beer
Happy birthday 17 dots
I work in NYC, along with a couple other eMu subs who read 17dots but don’t have the balls to post here ever. I can assure you, though, we’ll do what we can to be wherever you guys are buying drinks. Just let us know.
I wanted to meet you too, Daniel! (I think I just had headphones on when this conversation was taking place. Like usual.)
Every guest should get a gift back of chewy candy containing — you guessed it — seventeen Dots. Preferably all red.

(idiot!)
Thanks, Todd! You all are very kind. I wish I could be there.
week sooner, yes…oh well. the cool kids have always spied on me and then only invited me to something if they knew i was going to be busy.
I told my wife tonight about your kind words. Without any hesitation, she said: “Ahh, those [17 Dots] guys just want to meet the nutter who responds to everything they post.”
Aw man, I so wish I could go! Alas, I’m no where near the area. If any of you 17 Dotters ever make your way to Milwaukee, let me know - I’d be more than happy to let you buy me a beer or two!
so we need to set about picking a place soon. any suggestions?
