virginia is for lovers
Who doesn’t love a good radio session? Especially when said radio session features an unreleased song? Some of you may have already discovered this, but the blog Sixeyes is currently hosting a session that eMusic favorites the National recorded for French Radio. The opposite of the legendary “Black Sessions,” where bands perform in front of an audience, this one is dubbed “The White Sessions” — just the band, in studio, no audience. What, I wonder, would constitute a Purple Session? Or a Green? The mind reels. Another thing that makes the mind reel? The awesomely bleak “You’ve Done it Again, Virginia.” How do you know it’s going to be a great song? The opening lyric is “You had fun/ but you couldn’t get him out of the car/ I guess mama’s boys only go so far.” How much do I love this band? How did they also manage to work in a reference to the 80s classic The Monster Squad? God bless them.

Thanks for posting up the link. I’d still like a real nice studio recording of ‘About Today’ treated how they play it live.
I think i know what a green session involves.
