		<description>I agree with every word, Joe. There's something special about this collection. I enjoy his new, more personal work, but I can't help but feel that the "Texas" songs dealt with many of the same issues with a light touch not always found in the more recent albums.

I would still point a newcomer to "Tallahassee," which is still my favorite Mountain Goats record overall. But "All Hail West Texas" certainly showcases a songwriter at the top of his powers while mining the bottom of recording technology.</description>
