masha qrella

A quickie before I head out for CMJ. So there’s this German singer-songwriter/electronic musician named Masha Qrella (female), and about six years or so ago, I became obsessed (very much so) with a jittery little song of hers called “I Want You to Know,” an electro-folk ditty where the beat and hitched guitar strumming are perfectly off, one leaving as the other is coming, creating this whole woozy sensation that her vocals, offered huskily under her breath, only exaggerate. Anyway, it was the only song I had heard by her, and then today I happen to stumble across Luck, the album the song comes from, on the site. I have no idea if the rest is as good, but I plan on spending the next week finding out.
