daytrotter!

We’re really excited about the arrival of the first Daytrotter Sessions EP on eMusic. In a lot of ways, Daytrotter values the same things many of us do: heartfelt independent music made outside the corporate rock system with an emphasis on immediacy and intimacy. You could spend hours on the Daytrotter site and still only scratch the surface of their impressive sessions archives. I got the chance to talk to Sean Moeller, one of the site’s co-founders, last week, and found his honesty and modesty refreshing. Sean truly is doing this “for the love of the game,” and his explanation of the site’s purpose and goals read like something out of a long-lost DIY Handbook. Take a few minutes to read our back & forth and I think you’ll see what I mean.

I found list last night when I was surfing Emusic. I haven’t found a single track on it that I don’t like!

It’s been five days since the last 17Dots post (Oct. 4). The blog usually puts up more than a post a day.

Is it just a light few days for new posts?

Guys don’t let this thing die! It is the most useful tool for finding great new music in the overwhelming list of new releases and back catalogs. If you need to look outside for authors, you should put out an open solicitation, as I’m sure there would be many who would be open to helping out.

    Thanks keeping 17dots alive,

    Sean

Well, only two of the five days I mentioned have been business days (Monday was Columbus Day). So there’s no reason to panic, and I wasn’t trying to suggest 17Dots was about to die. I just look forward to new posts here, e.g., the weekly Tuesday New Arrivals post, and was wondering what happened to it this week.

Anyway, I have the new Radiohead disc to tide me over.

Is anyone able to access the emusic site? If not, does anyone know what is going on? If yes, I’ll have to fiddle around with my computer and see if there is a setting I can change because I have not been able to get on the site this week.

no one is letting anything die! a lot of the blame falls on me — i’ve been out the past few days sick, and so there’s less time for other people to get to the blog. posts today, though, promise.

I’ve been the worst Dots slacker of all, but promise to remedy that as soon as I’m back from my trip!
