Unless Manuel Göttsching is a lot touchier than I think he is, this link provides one of the better music-related April Fools Day gags that I saw this past year. In it, Göttsching’s management takes Murphy to task for appropriating the cover of E2-E4 for Murphy’s 45:33 Nike mix.
What other Aprils Fools Days jokes did you see this year out there? Anything good?
This is the first year I can remember where I didn’t see ANY April Fool stuff!
Online, TV, Newspapers – nothing at all.
Must admit I wasn’t looking that hard, but I expected to stumble across something.
google paper was pretty great.
I liked Terrorizer magazine’s one. They stated that Phantom of the Opera singer Sarah Brightman was to be the new vocalist for Finnish metal band Nightwish and, to help her feel like part of the gang, were changing their name to Brightwish.
This NPR story totally had me going for about 5 minutes…

man: i heard that too, but halfway through i started to doubt it. and then the next segment was all about april fool’s jokes!
