		<description>I remember hearing about the Slay Tracks 7&quot; and the freakouts Douglas mentions.  In particular, I remember getting really excited from reading the Ajax mailorder catalog long after Tim Adams had sold all his copies of Slay Tracks.  Also, the Weddoes&#039; version of &quot;Box Elder&quot; was initially a b-side on a British 12&quot; and later tacked on to CDs of Bizarro (and radio promo 12&quot;s in the US) -- the LP version doesn&#039;t have it.

I always preferred the 7&quot; version of &quot;Summer Babe&quot; (which should be on Westing) to the LP version -- they&#039;re close, but there&#039;s something about the tone and dynamics that changed by the time Pavement got to Matador.   Summer 1991 was absolutely dominated by Pavement, with the Perfect Sound Forever 10&quot; and then the Summer Babe 7&quot; putting Drag City on the map in a major way.  Ba ba bada ba...</description>
