The Fading Collection

Those who enjoy Goldfrapp, Portishead, Annie or other female fronted electronic acts would do well to check out the albums we have available by The Fading Collection. This Seattle based duo serves up a tasty mix of dirty beats, big synths, dark lyrical imagery and Sarah McColloch’s syrup meets vinegar vocals.
Supertron; their latest release, tends to be a bit more upbeat than their initial trip-hop roots. More pop oriented entries ( Q, Windshield) are balanced by shorter vignettes (Space Station) and darker downbeat tracks (Average Americans, Checkmate). Things never slow down too much though, and when the last track finishes I am always surprised that the album is finished.
Stems is a remix companion to the debut trip-hop album Interactive Family Radio (not currently available on eMusic) and features re-imaginations of the tracks by other members of the Seattle underground electronic scene. Kuma, Electron Love Theory, Emma’s Mini and Beehive all provide contributions, as do members of The Fading Collection itself. In the spirit of full disclosure, I also provided the Tired and Bored (Lucid Dreamstate mix) to the project under the moniker nonplus.

Cool, the samples sound very good. Thanks for the tip, I like getting recs from you guys. I bought the Emma’s Mini album Beat Generation Mad Trick on Magnatune.com a few years ago and I used to listen to it a lot (it may be time again). But I haven’t heard anything from or about them for a while now.
